All of the Earth from beginning of time is held together by the work of Christ. God, being the infinitely brilliant Creator of all, designed the Earth for His Glory. He is the foundation of Creation, but even when that creation turned against Him, the work of the cross redeems it all back to Him. Just as He built the foundations of all existence, He holds it all together in his timeless saving-work of the cross.

That thought of the cross symbolically holding all things together became the creative concept direction for The Great Foundation. We used imagery of the elements of creation, and wrapped them around the cross to communicate the submission of all creation to the Lord, but also the constant upholding of all things by the Lord’s hand. We see in Scripture that he upholds all things and sovereignly rules. His power is endless, yet He cares for the birds of the field and the flowers — so how much more does He love mankind, his prized creation?

Every image in the artwork intentionally serves as a reminder to God’s attributes. The mountains show God’s strength. The stars remind us that our God is in the Heavens and that He does what He pleases. The oceans remind us the He can still the roaring waves, and saves us from the endless depths of our own sin. The trees symbolize his planting, growing and caretaking of all living things. Lastly, the cross is shown, centered around all the created things to show God’s ultimate sovereignty and use of creation to reveal himself to us. Other notes about imagery worth mentioning are the color palette and cross both nod to Harvest Church. The cross is actually mounted in the sanctuary of Harvest, which helped us all feel like the album was a little more unique to us.
